FleetTurbine Specialist- Planner


The Fleet Turbine Specialist- Planner is responsible for building and maintaining detailed plans/schedules for forced and planned turbine/generator outages including Pre-outage and Outage activities for the SNC Fleet. This includes consolidating all corrective and preventative maintenance, surveillance and post maintenance tests and modification activities within each planned/forced outage. The Turbine Specialist Planner works closely with the Turbine Specialist Scheduler and the entire turbine team to prepare for, and execute, turbine outages.


Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Technical BS Degree (preferred)

Background/Experience Requirements

  • Experience planning /scheduling maintenance resources in at least 2 power plant outages

  • Intradepartmentalcommunication skills (verbal and written)

  • Must have 6-8 years powerplant experience with at least 3 years cumulative industry experience inscheduling management, project management, operations, maintenance,project controls or engineering.

  • Experience with P6

  • Critical Path schedulingMethod knowledge

  • Turbine/Generator-specificexperience (preferred)

  • Working knowledge ofmainframe and PC based scheduling tools (preferred)

  • 3 to 6 years Nuclear PlantExperience (preferred)

  • Experience with ESOMs &Maximo (preferred)


  • Collaborates with Turbine ProjectManagement and Vendor representatives for detailed outage plan, work packageand schedule development for the Fleet’s Turbine Outages. Executes workplanning and interfaces with the Sites’ Work Management groups to integrateTurbine outage plans into the Sites’ outage plan.

  • Collaborate interdepartmentally todetermine outage scope and maintain scope control for upcoming and outlyingunit outages by reviewing commitments, long range plan, modification schedule,technical specification, preventive maintenance backlogs, and operatingdepartment priorities.

  • Provide oversight ofFleet/Plant/Alliance outage milestones to ensure compliance and preparedness.

  • Leads the work planning process forTurbines through the near-outage ‘T meeting’ phases and ensures the station’sTurbine Project is successful regarding maximizing scope stability, scopesurvival, schedule stability and PM program health.

  • Continuously strives to improve thework management process and drive site behaviors regarding meeting milestones.Maintains detailed records of outage execution ‘actuals’ in order to identifysuccesses and gaps in execution.
