Job Title: Resident Care Aide
Hourly Range: To be determined
Standard Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Position Reports to: Administrator

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education: High School Education or Equivalent preferred.
Previous Experience: Private duty care or institutional geriatric care experience preferred.
Computer Experience Required: None
· Full range of body motion and dexterity to allow for the significant handling, transferring,
pushing/pulling, and lifting of residents and equipment.
· The ability to frequently, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, or
pull over 50 pounds.
· Eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, odor, color and texture perception and discrimination,
functional visual ability and depth perception, functional sound perception and discrimination and
functional speech ability.
· Frequent bending, twisting, balancing, and reaching at/or above and below shoulder level, as well as
occasional kneeling and climbing.
· Ability to wear gloves and other protective equipment.
Working Conditions: Exposure to disagreeable odors, communicable diseases, and bodily
fluids; exposure to the chemical compounds of medications and treatments; exposure to
chemicals such as disinfectants, cleansers, soaps, etc.; exposure to latex, plastic, and other
materials used for personal protective equipment; exposure to noise and distractions; exposure
to unpredictable behaviors.
Job Summary: The Resident Care Aide is a member of the Assisted Living team who, under the guidance
and supervision of the Administrator, provides personal care and assistance to residents in their home
environment. Under periodic but regular supervision by the Administrator, the Resident Care Aide performs
observations designed to assist in the gathering of data relevant to the residents' needs and performs care for
the residents, as indicated, utilizing equipment or supportive therapy, as ordered. The Resident Care Aide
provides basic personal care, including bath and hygiene care, meal assistance, medication assistance (ALF only) resident transfers and assistance with ambulation and range of motion. The Resident Care Aide will assist with household duties, such as laundry, ironing, vacuuming, preparing the dining rooms for meals, cleaning after meals, and serving meals to the residents. The Resident Care Aide is responsible for communicating with the Administrator, resident and family, as indicated. Documentation is completed per protocol. The Resident Care Aide is responsible for complying with policies regarding health and safety in the home environment.
