We Are Seeking

The Legal Secretary I provides direct and administrative support to the Town Prosecutor and Assistant Town Prosecutors by maintaining a caseload and all that each case entails.
Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Secretary I who is innovative, driven, and passionate about serving the justice system.

The Legal Secretary I provides direct support to the prosecutors by answering their emails and their requests for essential information which includes providing complete and accurate cases for their review. Other essential duties include entering items of evidence into cases, copy audio, photos, and video into cases as well as transfer court emails into OnBase and distribute the emails to the correct support staff member. The Legal Secretary I utilizes the Prosecutor Case Management system (ePros) and Gilbert Police system ILEADS as well as Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS), through AZ DPS, to obtain criminal histories of defendants/victims/witnesses. Lastly, communicating with victims by sending email or US Mail

notice of all court proceedings and victim rights as enumerated by constitutional and statutory law.

  • High School Diploma of equivalent (G.E.D.)
  • One year of experience working in a legal environment and experience in customer service and an organization, research-based position
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.

About You


The ideal candidate for this position has a knowledge in legal case management as well as skill in research, organization, and attention to detail. This position requires someone who is great at multitasking and has the interpersonal skills and technical skills needed. The Legal Secretary I position requires extensive customer service that includes often working with members of the public, police officers, and court personnel. Both written and verbal communication skills are essential.
