Job Description

Provides professional level administrative support to the Herberger Institute Associate Dean for Enterprise Design and Operations, assisting with general administration projects, research and analysis, procedural studies, and technical planning on a variety of projects, including the planned ASU facility at Mesa City Center. Collaborates with Associate Dean and Founding Director in order to gain working knowledge and experience related to department administration and project management.

Essential Duties

Serves in an intern capacity for Herberger Institute programs in development, which may include the following duties and responsibilities:
Planning events and tracking participation
Coordinating the development of communications materials
Planning/facilitation of meetings with external partners
Coordination of student worker teams
Conducts independent research of administrative or operational areas specific to the area of assignment
Assembles and analyzes statistical data and field/community information and makes interpretations for application to area of assignment
Assists in development of new programs, policies or procedures; coordinates programs as assigned
Assists in specialized administrative or technical projects in area of assignment
Analyzes procedures and makes recommendations for improvement
Maintains databases and prepares reports as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Skill in planning, organization, coordination of activities
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Evidence of effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience in the use of personal computer and related software applications
Demonstrated practical knowledge of creative facilitation and/or design thinking principles
Experience working with community and industry partners and/or stakeholders

Working Environment

Professionally represent department/program.
Sit or stand for the duration of the shift, climb stairs or walk moderate distances to perform work.
Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups.
Develop and deliver presentations to groups.
Use computers effectively, including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of the viewing screen, using mouse and keyboard, and sitting.
Use critical thinking to make decisions.
Research, develop, implement and assess programs.
Communicate orally and in writing to perform essential duties.
Walk throughout campus for meetings or events, regardless of the weather.
Use of standard office equipment, including multi-line telephone, fax, copier, scanner, pc-based computer, and accessories.
Monitor expenditures.
Lift up to 15 pounds.
