As an Associate Director of Immunology within US Corporate Affairs, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping communicate and bringing to life our exciting new Immunology portfolio and science through creative, dynamic storytelling, signature programs, initiatives and activities that engage a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will work closely with US and Global leaders along with Corporate Affairs colleagues to develop and implement a leading US Immunology Corporate Affairs plan, at the therapy area, immunology franchise and brand levels, including: internal and external communications, patient advocacy, corporate reputation, policy, state and federal government affairs and scientific/medical communications.

You’ll also provide strategic council to colleagues across the broader US and Global Respiratory and Immunology therapy area to implement high impact, integrated communication plans. The ideal candidate is a strategic and innovative, self-starter with excellent stakeholder engagement, executive presence and communication skills, who can engage and influence others, navigate complexity, solve problem and create efficiencies while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

This role reports into to the Head of US Corporate Affairs for the Respiratory & Immunology therapy area.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Create and implement measurable, scalable integrated communications strategies and plans to help elevate US Immunology, as well as broader Respiratory and Immunology narratives with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Collaborate closely with US Corporate Affairs colleagues to ensure integration and effective relationship building across the US Respiratory & Immunology portfolio with important internal and external stakeholders

  • Coordinate with cross-functional colleagues in US and Global organization to ensure consistent and integrated communications and engagements across the therapy area and beyond

  • Represent US Respiratory & Immunology Corporate Affairs on commercial leadership team(s) and serve as a strategic thought partner to Immunology Commercial, Medical, Market Access lead(s).

  • Counsel Respiratory franchise commercial leads and marketing

colleagues on communications, messaging and engagement activities across the therapy area and beyond

  • Connect and collaborate regularly with Global Corporate Affairs Immunology colleagues, representing the US team and synergizing communications and engagements between US and Global stakeholders

  • Effectively engage and partner with agency partners to ensure delivery of projects and programs within budget and schedule

  • Leverage the full depth and breadth of US Corporate Affairs (advocacy and alliance engagement, policy, government affairs, internal and external communications) to deliver distinctive, leading and measured results for the US Immunology therapy area

  • Active participant in a diverse culture, with a respect for others and desire to respectfully lead without authority

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, public relations or related fields

    • 7+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications function or PR agency

    • Ability to set and manage priorities, deadlines, resources, goals, and project initiatives

    • Strong proven knowledge in the latest in digital and social media technology, and channels

    • Use of data and analytics to evaluate campaigns & generate insights, as well as capture ROI

    • Ability to understand and interpret scientific and medical data, or demonstrate transferrable skill to learn quickly

    • Experience developing and implementing integrated, multi-channel communication strategies and activations

    • Strong experience interacting and providing counsel to senior leaders as well as cross-functional stakeholders

    • Experience managing project teams and third-party vendors, including budgets

    • Understanding and experience of issues management

    • First-rate coordination, collaboration, organization and multi-tasking skills

    Desired Requirements

    • Healthcare PR agency experience

    • Experience with sales, marketing and other commercial communications

    • Corporate, executive and product communications experience

    • Knowledge of the US healthcare system

    • Knowledge of the pharma industry

    • Experience in driving value through impactful storytelling and creative activations
