Description:
  • Acquiring, setting up and operating laboratory equipment required for new product development in paper additives applications
  • Conducting lab reactions, especially synthesizing water-soluble polymers
  • Learning new analytical techniques and operating instrumentation
  • Generating experimental data
  • Performing data analysis and reporting the results to principal investigator(s)
  • Managing lab with strong focus on safety compliance
  • Planning and conducting lab reactions (e.g., synthesis of polymers) to generate experimental data, conducting product characterization, performing data analysis and reporting the results to principal investigator(s)
  • Satisfy documentation requirements by keeping a lab notebook, summarizing
results (e.g., into Excel spreadsheets), participating in group meetings, and contributing to reports
-Comply with safety processes by completing job safety analyses/hazard reviews, completing LMS courses, and -participating in mandatory meetings
  • Learn and develop new techniques through lab work and literature reviews
Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Strong candidates with a BS degree in Biology will be considered
  • 2-5 years industrial laboratory experience preferred
  • Synthesis and characterization of water-soluble polymer background is a plus

  • Focused on producing high quality results to achieve goals and objectives

  • Good teamwork skills
  • Self-starter
  • Good analytical/troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Focus on safety; understanding of handling hazardous materials
