Work is assigned and supervised by the Director of the Gulf Coast Symphony Music & Arts Community Center. Intern will work closely with the Executive Director and the administrative team. Given the nature of non-profit work, the candidate must have a passion for public sector service and art education. An ideal candidate will want to gain experience in developing education programming for artists of all ages and levels of ability. Assignments are expected to be carried out under limited supervision within the office or remotely, therefore only candidates with sound judgment, time management skills, and internal motivation should apply.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform background research
- Host virtual classes
- Manage the organization’s student database (Tessitura)
- Collaborate with Marketing team to promote programming
- Provide operational and administrative support as needed
Qualifications / Education:
The best candidate will be chosen from a pool of currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who can demonstrate that they seek to gain hands-on experience in arts education. They will demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate in person, on the telephone and in writing.
- Minimum 10 hours a week spent in the office.
- Submittal of all work assignments within determined deadlines.
$100/week stipend paid for the duration of the internship.
