Job Description:

DCS is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Purchasing Assistant 1 (Inventory Technician) assigned to the Distribution Center. The DCS Distribution Center plays a critical role in supporting the Department's operations ensuring employees have the necessary clothing, equipment, and supplies to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.

Under direct supervision, receives stores and issues property and supplies. Manages administers or coordinates property and inventory control.

Position Duties & responsibilities:

  • Distributes clothing and equipment to agency employees and processes returns/exchanges.
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external customers.
  • Loads and unloads deliveries and by manual operation, pallet jack and/or handcart.
  • Receives, inspects, and inventories clothing and equipment accurately.
  • Stocks shelves orderly maintaining a neat appearance of the warehouse area.
  • Monitors stock levels to ensure timely purchases.
  • Performs physical inventory count as necessary.

  • Operates and maintains warehouse equipment and tools in compliance with safety standards. May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required.

This position will serve as an Inventory Technician assigned to the DCS Distribution Center at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC).

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university OR One year of experience in materials management.
