Event Labor Manager

Job Description:

Responsible for the overall operation and contract administration of multiple contracts. The Manager has responsibility for maximizing revenue of the operations through efficient management. Provide strong leadership for the managers in meeting the business objectives.

Plan for and schedule manpower, equipment, and supply requirements for client events and maintains accountability for the cost, quality, utilization, and performance of employees and equipment.

Supervises and develops staff; makes hiring decisions; assigns work; monitors activities and performance; conducts appropriate coaching, counseling and training; makes discipline and termination decisions. Ensures staff compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures.

Principle liaison in providing or determining the needs of required services for a successful event. Assures that all accounts are handled in a timely and professional manner. Acts as the primary point of contact during events. Resolves problems and makes decisions as required to ensure a successful event.

Develops and maintains standards for operational consistency. Develops procedures and policies for all operational areas. Ensures that training is implemented and on going.

Maintains a positive work environment, such that all employees feel a part of the team and work together to achieve maximum client satisfaction and financial results.

Maintain responsibility for authorizing and verifying payroll for the Department.

Performs other related duties as may be required or assigned by the management and/or client request.



Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, hospitality management or other related field; minimum of five years experience as a large volume food & beverage/catering industry, financial/budget experience, or any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.

Must have the ability to work under general direction and motivate and supervise employees; must have the management skills in planning, organizing, directing and controlling; must have effective human relations skills

Must have a pleasant personality, professional manner and appearance.

Working knowledge of computer operation and software (MS Word, MS Outlook, Excel, MS Office, and PowerPoint).

Superior verbal & written communication skills; leadership skills; ability to receive and give instructions; ability to make presentations to company management and clients.
