Description & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes financial information and customer credit history in order to determine whether credit should be extended and the amount of credit to be extended
  • Responsible for the overall AR and collections activity
  • Using standard accounting metrics (e.g. Days-to-Pay, Days Sales Outstanding, Payment Terms, etc.) measure customer payment performance and execute remediation plans when necessary
  • Provide regular and consistent communication to customers to ensure visibility to open balances, payment performance and other issues preventing/interruption timely payment
  • Works closely with claims and invoicing/cash application to communicate issues with invoicing and payments; and aid in resolution if needed
  • Provide strategic guidance to implement processes and policies that contribute to the timely collection of open balances
  • Escalating accounts through proper channels to provide visibility to issues, potential risks and other problems that could potentially impact collection activity
  • Lead internal and external calls/meetings to discuss and review customer open account balances
  • Assists with the cleanup of unapplied receipts, short paid invoices and charge backs

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-years’ experience in the food industry; preferably in deli, grocery and/or bakery
  • Must be available to work Monday-Friday and some Saturdays
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive movements
    (i.e., bending, pushing, pulling, lifting)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions and proof of current vehicle insurance
  • Must be available to maintain schedule appropriate with customer’s business operations
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within the company and assigned accounts
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to changing business needs and priorities
  • Willingness to learn and work in all areas of the business as needs dictate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
