The Project:

The aim of the Housing Solutions Project is to develop and advocate for individual and systemic solutions that produce a variety of affordable, accessible housing options for citizens with physical and intellectual disabilities.

The Housing Solutions Project team collaborates with nonprofit housing entities, private developers, Section 8 landlords, government entities, Habitat for Humanity, and other housing professionals on projects designed to:

  • Create new safe, affordable and accessible housing options, including rental and home ownership options, demonstrating a minimum of eight distinctive models
  • Design accessible architectural plans, including quarters for live-in support, that are cost efficient and replicable
  • Create integrated accessible units in new multi-family, mixed income developments, possibly using Federal 811 funds and tax credits
  • Retrofit and repair existing properties to make them accessible
  • Explore the feasibility of Community Land Trusts in addressing the housing crisis
  • Investigate and initiate co-housing models
  • Ensure existing credit builder partners rely on materials and a process that is relevant for
  • Advocate for systemic change in regulation and protocol to reduce barriers to housing for people with disabilities
  • Promote the concept of Universal Design and individualized accessibility in the housing community

The Job:

The Housing Solutions Project Manager is responsible for handling initiatives related to Mattingly Edge’s Housing Solutions Project. The Project Manager will work closely with Housing Solutions Project committee members, Mattingly Edge staff, and contractors from the housing sector to ensure all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. This position requires some travel.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Project Manager with a background in affordable housing to join our innovative team. You will need to have experience in project management and the ability to lead project teams of various sizes. A Project Management (PMP) certification is preferred.   • Coordinate with team members to make sure all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
  • Define and delegate tasks and develop required resources
  • Develop effective partnerships with members of the local housing community, finding ways to work together to produce positive outcomes
  • Prepare routine reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information
  • Exhaust all possible resources, braiding both housing and disability resources, to produce housing options for eight individuals
  • Participate in the development of written and media resources
  • Conduct post project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 /hour
