The position requires a dedicated individual who will take direction from the Human Resources Director in coordinating all recruitment, selection and placement activities for all staffing levels. The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) will process payroll and assist in coordinating programs for employee relations, benefits, and leaves of absence in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Manage all internal and external full cycle recruiting activities
  • Oversee career portal and applicant tracking system (SilkRoad OpenHire), including and training hiring managers on its use
  • Manage all job requisitions and act as a liaison between HR and the hiring managers, developing and maintaining a collaborative relationship with the hiring managers
  • Maintain current job descriptions for all positions
  • Create job postings and identify external sourcing opportunities within budget
  • Identify and build relationships with key community members to market employment brand to build quality candidate pool
  • Assist management and employees in Human Resources related issues and activities
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and benefits questions (including disability) with corporate office
  • Conduct salary surveys as needed
  • Maintain necessary records for employee personnel files
  • Payroll processing, compiling weekly and monthly reports
  • Comply with safety and security directives, policies and procedures
  • Facilitate new hire/re-hire orientation as needed (not primary trainer)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in business/Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred
  • Some experience in recruiting, interviewing, selection, staffing as a recruiter or hiring manager
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Internet required; SilkRoad OpenHire experience a plus
  • Knowledge of state and federal selection guidelines and employment laws preferred
  • Experience with social media a plus
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and time-management skills, detail orientation. Ability to organize and coordinate projects through completion
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills, mature and professional manner; ability to communicate with pose and tact with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff and to prioritize, coordinate and complete assignments and projects in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must handle sensitive confidential material responsibly
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ethics that generate and sustain a positive team atmosphere and professional environment
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel if necessary
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to respond to emergencies when needed


  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop
  • Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 30 pounds
