There is a vacancy for a Bookkeeper in the Bonds & Fines-Collection Section. The primary function of the Bonds and Fines Division is the collection and disbursement of traffic and criminal fines/bonds. The division also attends court and takes notes, obtains bonds money from the jail, and disburses funds to other agencies. The requirements needed to apply for this position are as follows:

Prior experience in handling funds.

Excellent comprehension of business English, precise spelling, and arithmetic.

Proficient in maintaining databases and excel spreadsheets.

Self-motivated with ability to plan, modify and carryout responsibilities.

Position requires comparing and checking information repetitively.

An ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with superiors, subordinates, co-workers, and other professional contacts.

Due to the personal matters handled by the Bonds and Fines Division in many of the cases, the need for confidentiality is a principal requirement.

Ability to maintain financial records and comply with annual audit procedures.

Good working knowledge of Louisiana Revised Statues and Parish Ordinances.

Good public relations skills.

Eligibility
1.00% - Must be at least 18 years of age 1.00% - High school diploma or GED 1.00% - US Citizen 1.00% - No criminal background Additional Information

100% of Employee Medical, Life, LTD and Vision paid by the Sheriff's Office. Dependent coverage is available with a portion also paid by the Sheriff's Office.
