Job Description

The MU Counseling Center is part of the MU Student Health and Well-Being organization, which includes the Counseling Center, Student Health Center, and Wellness Resource Center. The Counseling Center provides mental health services for MU students as well as serves as a resource for faculty, staff, and other university stakeholders. The Counseling Center is administratively housed within the Division of Student Affairs.

This position is one of three staff members primarily responsible for greeting clients, scheduling appointments, processing phone calls, and creating client files. This role also includes data entry within a specialized data system, use of MyZou, and adherence to confidentiality standards.
General front desk duties include direct customer service, managing client appointments, processing client paperwork, filing, copying, and clinical data entry for Student Services. Assist with maintaining office supplies. This position requires ability to shift quickly from one task to another in a busy office setting while maintaining accuracy.
Frequent use of technology including a clinical database, MyZou enrollment system, multi-line phone, copier, and fax.
Job requires HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.


Salary Range: $11.54 - $14.00 an hour

Grade: GGS 005

University Title: Office Support Assistant III

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates ideally possess strong customer services skills, great organization skills, time management, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and computer skills (data entry/management). Experience in a mental health/medical setting preferred
