MISSION STATEMENT

The Department of Revenue serves Montana by providing high quality services, ensuring equity and fairness, and constantly improving efficiency.

The Montana Department of Revenue administers approximately 40 state taxes, property appraisals, liquor laws, and unclaimed property for the State of Montana.

DUTIES

A Property Valuation Specialist (PVS) III coordinates and performs a range of specialized property appraisal and assessment support services to facilitate data research, verification, computation, and processing procedures; provides general office and program support services; researches and compiles general program information; ensures consistent messaging on policies, procedures, and statutes; and coordinates with other program staff and managers as necessary to respond to unusual or specialized requests.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

The above competencies and degrees of proficiency are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • One year of post-secondary education or training in business, auditing, accounting, or related field; and
  • Three years of job-related experience.
  • Work experience should be made up of appraisal, assessment, auditing, accounting, bookkeeping, records management, or a real estate related field.

Other combinations of relevant education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis. It is important that all previous work

experience is listed.

This position does not require any postsecondary education – however, if you have documented graduation and a college degree please attach your transcripts.
