Job Description:

SUMMARY:

Maintaining a secure and reliable supply chain is essential for ensuring that the right products reach the right destinations safely and efficiently. Ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of products to trade partners and customers across the North American Continent requires the supply chain to work closely with other business functions within the company through various business processes.

The Transportation Analyst enhances product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans that influence decisions and policies in support of domestic and internationally sourced finished products, components and raw materials. They are also responsible for executing time-sensitive data entry accurately across multiple systems. This data is critical to understanding delivery times, transit issues, and opportunities to improve process flows. This position reports to the Inbound Transportation Manager and works cross-functionally to determine ways to optimize service levels, improve supply chain efficiency and minimize costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, organizes and executes Logistics activities and projects while ensuring assigned target dates are met.
  • Strong participation in team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking project assignments, while providing the appropriate guidance to cross-functional team members.
  • Creates or revises standard operating procedures for logistics processes.
  • Manages day to day execution of SAP transactions.
  • Manage day to day execution of inbound shipments, working closely with the sourced product team to support the flow of inbound orders and inventory requests, the RDCs/Hubs for OEM product flow, and with factories on inbound flow of materials.
  • Research vendor and container invoices against contracted terms to ensure correct billing.
  • Coordinate International Import and Export shipments with Customs & Trade, Global Logistics, and key stakeholders to ensure smooth flow of inbound and international shipments.
  • Coordinate with Global logistics on freight rates and contract terms for new and existing lanes.
  • Work with 3PL team on providing updated inbound shipment information and smooth flow of information from suppliers through the supply chain.
  • Manage and work with GSO to correct shipment information and various document issues.
  • Resolve service related issues with appropriate Steamship line contacts to ensure no delays are experienced in container delivery.
  • Develop and maintain monthly inbound transportation reports and metrics.
  • Monitor and manage collaborative relationship with Steamship Line and domestic carrier partners
  • Analyze market data, trends and alternative transportation solutions looking for process improvement, error correction and cost savings.
  • Lead on-going improvement projects and tasks.
  • Research vendor and container invoices against contracted terms to ensure correct billing.
  • Works with AP team to ensure invoice payment compliance.
  • Develop, implement and track cost saving opportunities via the Project Tracker.

Minimum Qualification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience with data analysis or measurement reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with basic understanding of statistics
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to apply analytical and decision making skills
  • Capable of setting priorities, meeting pre-determined deadlines and multi-tasking
