Advanced Practice Provider ~ Oklahoma Heart Institute

Oklahoma Heart Institute is currently looking for a member to join our Critical Care team! The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will perform usual and customary duties of a Mid-level Provider, i.e., taking patient history, performing physical exams, diagnosing, monitoring care, and counseling patients under the direct supervision of the designated physician.

  • Effectively identify, evaluate and address disease prevention and health promotion issues of the population in the practice while administering quality patient care.

  • Work in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration or referral.

  • Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic and long-term healthcare issues

  • Educate patients and/or families about preventative care, medical issues and use

of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.

  • Maintain legible, accurate and confidential medical records; document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations consistent with OHI policies and procedures as well as state regulatory standards.

  • Facilitate evaluation of records by physician(s), peers and Quality and Standards according to protocols and receives and implements constructive directives.

  • Analyze new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature or “hands-on training” and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice.

    • OK licensed APRN, NP or PA-C
    • Previous critical care experience required
    • Must have or be eligible for prescriptive authority


    Excellent written/verbal/telephone communication skills are essential, along with basic computer knowledge. This position will adhere to all policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
