This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Operating System/Network Analyst, competency level 3, position for the Enrollment Management IT at Oregon State University (OSU).
Enrollment Management Information Technology (EMIT) is a centralized department of Systems and Operations Analysts, and Web and Data development within the Enrollment Management Division that supports the administrative and operational units of Enrollment Management. The EMIT team of Systems. Operations and Data Analysts and Web Developers and Managers maintain the functional aspects of the core enterprise software applications and information gathering/dissemination practices for student information across the life-cycle, providing training, documentation and support to all users.
The Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting EMIT systems and tools through data research and analytics, making recommendations where appropriate for the improvement or enhancement of Information Technology systems and tools. In addition, the Systems Analyst is responsible for performing all administrative and functional tasks necessary to maintain working and accurate data systems and tools, including performing upgrades. The goal of the Systems Analyst is to optimize the value derived from the use of the administrative and student systems.
The Systems Analyst interfaces regularly with the Office of Admissions, Office of Scholarships, Degree Partnership Program, and the Office of the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management to analyze business practices, evaluate the needs of the unit, recommend and implement solutions. Works collaboratively with administrative offices and academic departments to define, develop and document office and inter-office policies and procedures. The Systems Analyst also interfaces regularly with academic partners across campus to provide access to and analysis of data in support of recruitment, enrollment yield, and academic research efforts within the academic units.Position Duties
45% Database and Application Management:
Manage database services and mission critical database applications in support of Enrollment Management systems, and administrative databases. Manage evaluation, installation, maintenance, and new development efforts for the Slate CRM system. Develop and maintain Information Technology tools and processes to monitor, analyze, and verify data and system integrity for EMIT systems.
20% System Security:
Manage and coordinate activities related to the security of data maintained in Enrollment Management systems. Implement and enforce policies regarding the physical access to computer systems, and data. Manage the security of information system access; establish security protocols, and access standards and criteria. Develop and maintain standards for disaster recovery, emergency planning, and business continuity.
20% Technical Coordination:
Research and maintain knowledge in state-of-the-art programming languages and approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs. Responsible for understanding and recommending technology solutions. Analyze effectiveness of tools.
10% Integration Development and Management:
Gather business processes requirements and convert to technical specifications. Collaborate with Enterprise Computing Services (ECS), customer service teams, and other technical staff to maintain student systems, perform upgrades, and act as the liaison between end-users and technical support groups. Integrate third party software tools with home-grown, and/or enterprise software tools and systems. Develop secure software applications.
5% Other Duties as AssignedMinimum Qualifications
This classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge in operating systems programs, maintenance, systems administration, and network systems that would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, engineering mathematics, telecommunications or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and/or experience.Additional Required Qualifications
Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM software administration and configuration.
Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal oversight, as well as lead cross-department and/or cross-functional teams to determine requirements and implement systems and software solutions.

- Ability to identify issues and constraints and work independently to resolve.

- Master’s degree (Computer Science, etc.).
- Information Technology experience in higher education or government.
- Experience working with Ellucian’s Banner ERP.
- Experience with and knowledge of academic policy and procedures in a higher education setting.
Typically 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional work on weekends or evenings to provide post migration touch testing.This position is deemed essential and the incumbent may be expected to report to work during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures.
