The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institute at Houtzdale is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support.

As a Clerk Typist 2 for the Department of Corrections, you will provide clerical and office support to your assigned institution. Duties include, but are not limited to filing, typing a variety of documents, inputting data for various departments within the institution, operating office equipment, and maintaining computer databases and records.

Schedule/Other Information
Work Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday
37.5 hours work week

Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $31,394 (before taxes).


Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 (commonwealth title) and educational development to the level of eighth grade;


Completion of high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course;


Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Preferred Qualifications
3 years of experience using Microsoft Word
3 years of experience using Microsoft Excel
2 years of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls
2 years of

experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying, machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter
