Job Description:

The Bilingual Receptionist is the first point of contact for the Association. The successful candidate provides exceptional customer service to Defender clients and visitors and coordinates all reception desk activities. The successful candidate will have a calm and pleasant personality and be able to communicate effectively with all parties in a respectful, professional manner, and assist with interviewing Spanish clients when necessary.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Greets and assists all Defender clients and visitors
  • Conducts preliminary interviews to identify and direct individuals to the appropriate parties
  • Confirms and updates client information through use of internal databases
  • Assists attorneys with interviews by sitting in and interpreting for Spanish speaking clients
  • Locates and delivers court files for interviews
  • Coordinates office interviewing schedule
  • Maintains daily and monthly reception desk visitors log, identifying the visitor and the services provided
  • Answers telephone inquiries from clients
  • Serves as back up to other reception desk personnel as needed
  • Delivers interoffice memorandum

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must have proficient written and oral Spanish language skills
  • Receptionist/customer services experience is preferred
  • Ability to learn internal computer programs effectively and efficiently
  • Must possess excellent rapport with professional staff and with the public

Salary - $29,000
