Job Description:

The primary function of the Communications Specialist is to write rich and compelling content for a variety of channels, including print, digital, and social, in order to drive client traffic and ultimately revenue to the company. The Communications Specialist is responsible for creating marketing materials, developing and maintaining a social media strategy, and maintaining a consistent brand voice. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and can adapt in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Write copy for a variety of marketing materials, including blog posts, technical and informative white papers, infographics, sales flyers, email templates, product descriptions, case studies, and more
  • Create and maintain new website pages and blogs in WordPress, using SEO best practices
  • Compose, write, and send weekly company communications
  • Review and write content for contract agreements, proposals, and requests for proposal (RFPs)
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and adjust based on changing priorities
  • Create and maintain a social media strategy and write content for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Add products to customer-specific web stores
  • Collaborate with other departments
  • Write clear, concise, and grammatically correct content that adheres to the company’s style guidelines
  • Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice
  • Continuously think of new, more efficient ways of performing job duties
  • Is empowered to make decisions to drive the business forward
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must have a passion for marketing, creative thinking, and an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Magento, CMS systems, plus basic HTML and CSS is a plus
  • Solid understanding of SEO concepts preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Outstanding time-management skills
  • Project management skills is a plus
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • An overall understanding of computer hardware, software, and technology with a willingness to learn more on a daily basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to write content that reflects different brand voices
  • Experience with and knowledge of social media platforms
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and background check

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, English, or communications
