Reviews and adjudicates flexible spending paper/electronic claims. Responsible for substantiation of claims by validating type of claim, qualifications, and specific level of support.
Determines whether to return, deny, or pay claims following organizational policies and procedures. Answers client inquiries, both inbound and outbound, through multiple variations of technology, telephone, and software applications assessing their needs and seeking resolution. Knowledge with health savings accounts (HAS), health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), and flexible spending accounts (FSA).
Gathers information for a variety of reports, statements, invoices, rosters; all information included is concise, accurate and audited. Drafts and sends member letters and summary statements. Balances payroll reports to ensure accurate deductions. Verifies automatic clearing house (ACH) deposits/transfers. Produces and prints checks for member reimbursement. Uses reference materials to facilitate accuracy, clarity, and completeness if reports. Demonstrates the ability to utilize software applications for maximum efficiency. Assist in preparing summary plan documents/ administration agreements and is knowledgeable in discrimination testing. Remains current on internal revenue service (IRS) regulations for all flex programs and participates in classes relevant to the job to enhance computer skills and knowledge on flexible benefit accounts and IRS guidelines.
Excellent customer service skills to work with health plan members and health plan clients. Excellent time management, organizational skills, accounting, communication skills. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Exhibits a positive attitude and behavior supportive of change. Ability to multitask with interruptions. Demonstrates attention to detail, experience with flexible benefit accounts in consumer driven healthcare.
Utilizes cost monitoring practices, techniques and considerations. Provides a quality of service that customers describe as excellent. Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy. Participates in accounting practices of classifying and recording financial data. Maintains a sense of urgency and a positive attitude. Identifies information within own function that cannot be disclosed. Follows regulations for entering and reporting the financial content in major accounting systems. Demonstrates an ability to meet own responsibilities. Delivers written and oral communication, responds to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact. Analyzes and resolves common and complex reconciliation problems. Adjusts work to accommodate the needs of group processes. Works with financial transactions and related documentation within the organization.
High school diploma required. Associate degree preferred. Proficiency in computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office.
