Job Description:

To provide administrative support for the Center and the Executive Secretary by providing telephone and office reception, screening visitors, and scheduling appointments via phone calls and in person.

Type of Recruitment Knowledge, skills and abilities

Working knowledge of general office practices and equipment. Working knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to use various PC-based software programs.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to manage files, schedules and clerical systems. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to independently draft correspondence and manage complex calendars.

Level and type of experience

Some experience providing customer service in an office environment. Some administrative support experience.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification

Working knowledge of effective supervisory techniques. H.S. Diploma or equivalent supplemented with training in PC-based software programs. Some training or coursework in office management or a related field. Some experience providing customer service and/or administrative support in a higher education environment.

Conditions of Employment

Working hours are Monday through Friday 4 hours per day

Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 – April 30 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement, or leave.

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary non-negotiable $ - 13.00 - 14.00 per hr
