Job Description:

The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) is excited to offer and announce a competitive opportunity to serve as a part-time Information Systems Support Specialist in the Central Office Human Resources Division!
Position specific responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:

Field customer inquiries for Human Resources (HR) applications.

Provide timely responses to internal and external stakeholders needs for systems access, functionality issues, training needs and other related processing content.

Provides accurate data entry, content management, and other needed administrative support.

Perform structured testing and analysis of HR systems in development.

Explores and communicates improvement opportunities for systems and related support processes.

The position you are applying for is an Hourly/Wage position. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than an average of 29 hours a week and can’t exceed 1500 hours during their employment year. This position does not include health insurance, retirement or leave.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience with delivering customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Accuracy in data entry and administration and ability to maintain the confidentiality of data, systems and records.

Experience with providing and managing support with internal and external stakeholders, prioritize demands and communicate effectively

Experience providing training and reporting on a wide array of systems
of support.

Skilled use with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Human Resources, HRIS technology solutions and web-based applications.

Experience delivering results and impact with solutions.

Special Requirements
This position requires a fingerprint based Criminal History Background Check, DMV Record Check and Work History Verification with references.
This position is designated as essential, employees are required to work in emergencies, to include weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours; assignments may vary based on business needs to include working in severe weather.
