We are seeking experienced-level applicants to deliver excellent customer service solutions in a friendly and knowledgeable manner as a DMV Customer Service Generalists at the following Richmond District locations:

  • Chester
  • Chesterfield
  • East Henrico
  • Hopewell
  • North Henrico
  • Petersburg
  • Richmond Central
  • West Henrico

The selected applicants will handle customer transactions using multiple PC screens, have experience with cash drawers and credit cards, be familiar with inventory, policies, procedures, and regulations. The selected will administer vision tests with customers, process applications for driver, dealer, motor carrier, vehicle registration and titling, tax collection, administer IDs, and provide other DMV related services. The successful applicants will also administer road test in customer’s vehicle.

These positions are full time positions with excellent health, retirement benefits, twelve paid holidays per year, deferred compensation, and paid annual and sick leave benefits. Training will be provided to ensure your success.

Minimum Qualifications
Customer service experience working in a fast paced environment.

Experience working in a Fiscal, Accounting or Cash Handling environment.

Keyboarding proficiency and use of automated systems.

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

Experience with standard business practices.

Flexibility to work M-F and Saturday.

Strong organizational, time management, problem solving and multitasking skills.

Must have attention to detail, accuracy, and complete assignments on time.

Experience working in a
team or group environment.

Demonstrated experience interpreting and explaining policies/procedures or other complex information to customers.

Ability to lift 10 – 25 lbs.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid VA Driver’s License with a driving record that reflects a sense of responsibility for highway safety and concern for the law. Driving record should have a point balance of less than 6 demerit points and no major convictions.
