Job Description:

Natural Gas Measurement & Regulation Technicians lead field employees in the maintenance, installation, calibration, valve inspection/maintenance, installation of new GM&R facilities, install/maintain GM&R equipment including communication equipment required in SCADA operations and all other general activities associated with maintenance of field GM&R equipment. An unrelenting focus on safety for all activities is paramount. With a customer-centric focus, Natural Gas M&R Specialists must possess a strong capacity for attention to detail and a sense of urgency for both the customer and Company to meet and exceed operation goals.


  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and accuracy of all natural gas and/or liquid measurement and control facilities
  • Lead field employees in the maintenance, installation, calibration, valve inspection/maintenance, installation of new GM&R facilities, install/maintain GM&R equipment including communication equipment required in SCADA operations, and all other general activities associated with maintenance of field GM&R equipment

· Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and remove advanced measurement, control and regulation equipment, SCADA and quality equipment

· Detect measurement error and correct volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation

· Monitor gas and liquid product volumes through the measurement system, insure all corrections are applied and insure proper qualities are applied

· Interpret and apply electrical and electronic schematics pertaining to EFM and measurement electronics

· Safely operate and maintain on-site natural gas conditioning equipment

· Communicate with customer and other customer contractors on behalf of the customer to maximize performance of equipment and operations

· Manage the performance of multiple units simultaneously

  • Analyze data and identify problems or trends related to field measurement operations
  • Prepare reports and operational recommendations related to measurement and pressure regulation equipment
  • Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork, including but not limited to, maintaining logs of operating conditions, execution and issues and report any irregularities

· Routinely communicate with Operations Manager

· Oversee the operation and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties

· Follow all Nacelle and Nacelle customer safety policies and procedures

· Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns

· Perform general housekeeping duties and be familiar with Nacelle’s HAZOP and Spill Prevention Plans

· Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

· Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence

· Regular and predictable attendance

· Operate company vehicle

· Job level commensurate with experience and skill set

  • Other duties as may be assigned


· Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in gas processing

· Experience / specific knowledge:

  • Experience with AGA measurement and sub components

§ Dresser Roots

§ Eagle

§ Mercury

§ Honeywell

§ Orifice Plate

· MVT: including Scadapack, ABB Total Flow, ROC107 & FloBoss, AutoPilot Pro, etc.

  • Experience with Pressure Regulation and Control devices

§ Fisher

§ Kimray

  • Troubleshooting, Repair, Commissioning
  • Some experience with gas processing systems

§ Compression

§ Filtration

§ Dehydration

§ Gas Chromatographs

§ RTU’s


  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Codes
  • Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems
  • Knowledge with electronic test instruments
  • Knowledge of gas and liquid chromatography
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment used in gas and liquid product measurement and control
  • Knowledge of AGA, API, and GPA measurement standards certifications, licenses, registrations

· Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements

· May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations

  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s and other construction and fabrication drawings
  • Familiarity with appropriate DOT codes for natural gas transportation
  • Ability to travel

· May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties

· Required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to being hired.

  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with minimum supervision.
  • Basic computer skills of MS Office, operating systems, company software
  • Basic math skills (algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Must be self-directed and possess the ability to perform duties with little to no supervision

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

Regularly required to:

  • Use hand tools and equipment, repetitive hand use such as simple grasp and twisting motion included
  • Talk and hear; verbally express ideas, information, and instructions
  • Have the ability to work around loud to moderate noise
  • Climb stairs and ladders to elevated workspaces
  • Lift, pull, push, or carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds regularly and up to seventy five (75) pounds occasionally

Occasionally required to:

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Stand/walk for long periods of time without a break
  • Remain seated in a normal position for up to half the workday
  • Enter and work in confined spaces
  • Work in low-lit areas


· Must be available to work all shifts and schedules

· Will be required to work in all climate conditions

· Must be available for emergency call outs

  • Depending upon the location and workload, travel will be required.
  • Will be required to participate and qualify for a variety safety training programs.

· This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug testing
